Fruitful and long-term cooperation between academic and university science represented by the Zelensky Institute of Organic Chemistry of the Russian Academy of Sciences and the South Russian State Polytechnic University (NPI) named after M.I. Platov in 2017 entered a new, progressive stage of integration.
The milestone was the signing of an agreement on the establishment of the Department of Chemical Sciences of the SRSPU (NPI) on the basis of the IOC RAS. The most important document was sealed with their signatures by the rector of SRSPU (NPI), Dr. of Sci,, Vladimir Perederiy and Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Director of the Zelensky Institute of Organic Chemistry RAS Mikhail Egorov.
The milestone was the signing of an agreement on the establishment of the Department of Chemical Sciences of the SRSPU (NPI) on the basis of the IOC RAS. The signing ceremony was also attended by the SRSPU (NPI): Vice-Rector for Research and Innovation Kravchenko O.A., Vice-Rector for Administrative Management Chebakov Yu.T., Director of the Center for Collective Use "Nanotechnology" V.M. This achievement is the result of joint research in the field of fundamental science, cooperation in the implementation of projects within the framework of grants from the Russian Science Foundation. Another recognition of the authority of the scientific school of chemical technologies of the SRSPU (NPI) at the all-Russian level becomes possible thanks to scientific research and fundamental research of university scientists. And, of course, the presence of a modern scientific and laboratory base at the Center for Collective Use "Nanotechnology" of the YRSPU (NPI), which is not inferior to the best world analogues, allows such research to be carried out.
The presence of the university's base department on the academic site will allow university students to listen to lectures by leading scientists of our country in the field of chemical sciences, to undergo practical training, to conduct research in the department of structural studies of the IOC RAS, headed by Academician V.P. Ananikov.
An important event before the signing of the agreement was the release of a joint article by scientists from NPI and IOC RAS in the Organometallics journal, published by the American Chemical Society (ACS), which is one of the most respected international journals in the field of organic metal chemistry. The importance of the results described in the article was appreciated by the publisher - the article received the prestigious ACS Editors' Choice status (selected by the ACS editors)! Just one article a day from all the journals of the American Chemical Society (more than 50 journals!) Gets this high status, which means that it is available for free to read from any computer without a subscription. An illustrative publication of a research topic, reflecting the content of the article, was placed on the cover of an authoritative journal, which indicates the high significance of the scientific results obtained.

Another important event was, on the eve of the signing of the contract, the defense by a graduate of the Technological Faculty of NPI (2013) Evgenia Sergeevna Diagtereva a dissertation for the degree of candidate of chemical sciences, who successfully completed her postgraduate studies at the Institute of Organic Chemistry.
